Whether you’re a complete beginner or working at diploma standard, I currently offer individual lessons for Gifted Juniors, Advanced Students and Dedicated Adult learners.
My mission is to encourage each student to become an independent learner: I want my students to be successful and talented pianists who will continue to play for the rest of their lives, whether for exams or just for fun.
I’ll work with you or your child to find the right path for piano mastery. Although there are key rudiments which will be a necessary part of lessons, I will also encourage you to explore your own musical interests. Lessons are available in classical, jazz and pop styles and most students find a blended pathway of all of these disciplines to be an enjoyable way of learning to play.
I support my students in taking exams and participating in competitive festivals and am also keen to ensure that everyone performs in a wider range of settings. I organise an annual recital and also encourage students to take part in piano meet-up groups across the North West.
To help support learning, all students are given their own online account where written, audio and video resources are uploaded after lessons. This additional support ensures that effective practice can take place. As my student you’ll also have exclusive access to a growing bank of digital resources and tutorials, which are used to complement and support learning. These range from tutorials in music theory to jazz improvisation.
All lessons are delivered from my home studio in Walton-le-Dale which houses a Petrof 125 piano.
